DISCRIMINATION, GENDER EQUALITY AND INCLUSION POLICY
Yaşar University considers gender equality, diversity and inclusion as the University’s strategic priority. Yaşar University has prepared this policy document showing its determination to conduct studies by putting these issues at the center of all its activities and decisions.
Our University is committed to creating a university environment free from gender-based inequality, discrimination, violence, sexual harassment, and assault created by this inequality, and where the principles of equality, freedom, and justice are observed.
On the one hand, gender equality is necessary for democracy and fundamental rights. At the same time, it is an indispensable element in accepting Yaşar University as an institution of society and the quality of its activities. Based on this principle, our University sees gender equality as a result and a process of all achievements. In this context:
- Supports and observes that Yaşar University’s corporate culture, working and learning climate are inclusive and fair,
- Oversees the teaching and research field to reveal and develop their talents by creating equal opportunities for all researchers,
- It implements active gender policies in its corporate culture and recruitment processes and takes the necessary measures to prevent direct or indirect discrimination.
Yaşar University’s Policy Document on Discrimination, Gender Equality and Inclusion is committed to developing resolute policies regarding all forms of discrimination in the following subject areas:
(i) Employment;
Yaşar University is committed to preventing discrimination in recruitment and employment decisions.
(ii) Education;
Yaşar University is committed to creating an active and sensitive educational climate that develops preventive policies regarding all forms of discrimination, including gender.
(iii) Research;
Yaşar University is committed to advancing without compromising gender equality in its effort to integrate into the global research ecosystem.
(iv) Preventing Harassment and Violence:
Yaşar University has adopted the Gender-Based Discrimination, Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention Policy Document. It shows its determination to develop a policy against all forms of discrimination by including the Gender-Based Discrimination, Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention Directive and the principle of gender equality in its strategic plan.
Yaşar University continues to take steps toward securing its goal of being an inclusive and equality-friendly university in all its activities and practices with its Policy Document on Discrimination, Gender Equality and Inclusion.
