Internationalization Policy
Our university is aware of the fact that the most important dimension of its vision is to educate innovative individuals who design and transform the future and to become a world university on a global scale.
Internationalization, as one of the topics of Research-Innovation, Education, Social Contribution and Sustainability in the Strategic Plan of our University, is of great importance in increasing the education and research quality of Yaşar University. The 4 main objectives set in the Strategic Plan in line with Internationalization are: (a) Increasing the number of international students and international student mobility; (b) Strengthening international mobility collaborations and international research networks; (c) To increase the number of scientific/artistic outputs with international researchers and (d) To increase international mobility activities.
In line with these goals, the internationalization of both education and research activities within our university, institutionalization and sustainability of these activities are of great importance. Another importance of Internationalization for our university is that our academicians maintain the scientific up-to-dateness of both themselves and our students by engaging in academic research and publication activities within international research networks. In line with this goal, various administrative units and research/application centers have been established in addition to academic units at our university. The EU Center, the Mediterranean Research and Application Center, the International Law Research and Application Center, and the UNESCO Chair operating in the field of International Migration, which have been established for this purpose in various fields within our university, are indicators of the importance given to Internationalization Policy in line with our Strategic Plan.
The main activities carried out according to the Internationalization Policy for the 4 main objectives included in the Strategic Plan of our University:
F1: Carrying out studies to increase the recognition and visibility of our university at the international level, to become an international brand and to take place in international rankings,
F2: Working on obtaining international accreditation,
F3: Carrying out studies to increase the number of international double degree programs,
F4: Strengthening the use of dual languages in campus life, organizing international cultural days and international summer schools in order to create an international campus environment,
F5: Developing and strengthening our university’s relations with universities abroad, government and non-governmental organizations through international education fairs and promotional events,
F6: Updating and increasing the number of Erasmus+ and global exchange program student mobility agreements,
F7: Increasing the number of institutions with which bilateral agreements are made to increase the number of full-time international students, organizing joint activities with exchange students in these institutions,
F8: Increasing the number of scientific publications published by internationally recognized publishers and scanned by international indexes,
F9: Creating research resources through participation in international projects, consortia and networks,
F10: Directing the research processes of our university to the main topics of the European Research Agenda and establishing thematic working groups in our faculties according to the priorities of the European Research Area 2021-2027.
F11: Supporting the participation of academics in projects funded by international institutions
F12: Providing training and academic activity support to international organizations and increasing the number of faculties/departments included in international research networks
F13: To increase the quality and quantity of training, information and consultancy activities and exchange programs in order to increase the mobility of academics and administrative personnel, and to encourage international cooperation,
F14: Increasing the number of joint publications and projects by hosting international academicians and researchers and supporting these processes,
F15: Organizing conferences, symposiums, exhibitions, competitions with international participation,
F16: Carrying out studies to ensure the integration of international project experience, international consortium / network and project management capacity as a general criterion into the researcher employment strategies and processes of our university.
F17: Institutional memberships to international organizations
F18: Supporting the participation of refugee students in education in line with the Goal-Oriented Internationalization Policy of YÖK,
F19: It is the design and implementation of education and research activities in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG).
The Internationalization Policy of our University is to increase the quality of education, research-innovation and social contribution activities in a sustainable way through internationalization and to realize the vision of Yaşar University to become a world university, which are the other dimensions of the Strategic Plan.
